Are you having financial difficulties? Learning how to be grateful for what God has already blessed you with is necessary to attract abundance to your life. Before you can be abundant you have to be able to see abundance all around you. Are you healthy? Do you have family and friends who love you? Just the fact that you woke up this morning is something to be grateful for. You have to change your perspective on life and in order to change your present reality. If you are thinking and feeling that the universe is scarce then more than likely that is what you will experience. However, positive feelings about finance and faith alone are not enough to bring change into your life. The scripture says in James 2:26 “Faith without works is dead.” Evaluate your relationship with money and ask yourself the following questions to get on the road to financial prosperity.
1. Have placed money above God in your life?
Few people will admit to doing so but most everyone has made money a huge priority in their life. It isn’t that money is not a priority but there is something which is way beyond money, and that something is our heavenly Father. “Thou shalt have no other God before me” all Christians should know this. But another “god” isn’t necessarily from another religion it is anything you worship and place a greater importance on than God himself. Unfortunately, money is a god that many people worship. Until you become aware that God is far more powerful than money you will continue to struggle with obtaining more of it or even holding on to what you have.
2. Have you asked God for money?
Most of us have been taught that asking God for money is selfish and offensive. However, if you were a small child and needed anything from your father would you ask him for it or would you just stand around and hope he figures it out? Yes God is all knowing, but he wants us to talk to him and have a relationship with him which means trusting that you can ask him for anything. Matthew 21:22 says whatever you ask in prayer if you believe you will receive. If a survey were to be taken more people than not would say the same thing, “I don’t really want a lot of money, I just want to have enough.” If this is what you believe then just enough to get by is what you will receive. Start asking in prayer, expecting and believing for more and the scripture says you will receive.
3. Are you a good steward over your money?
In the Parable of the Talents Matthew 25:14-30 three men were given different amounts of money to be responsible for. Two of the three men were able to increase the amounts of money they were given while the third did nothing with his portion. His money was taken away from him and given to the first man who was faithful, hardworking and disciplined with the money he was entrusted with. What do you do with the money God has given you? Are you responsible with it or do you squander it and complain that you don’t have enough?
After you really evaluate your life with prayer, hard work, discipline and sacrifice financial prosperity will be just around corner.
